CHCHD10은 미토콘드리아 내막의 크리스타 접합부에 풍부한 단백질을 암호화합니다. 크리스타 형태 유지 및 산화적 인산화에 관여할 수 있습니다. 이 유전자의 돌연변이는 전측두엽 치매 및 근위축성 측삭경화증-2를 유발합니다. 대체 스플라이싱으로 다양한 전사체 변형이 생성되며, 관련된 유사유전자가 염색체 7과 19에서 확인되었습니다.
