Target Information
The Golgi complex is essential for sorting and modifying proteins exported from the endoplasmic reticulum. The GOLPH2 gene encodes a type II Golgi transmembrane protein that processes proteins synthesized in the rough endoplasmic reticulum and assists in their transport through the Golgi apparatus. Expression of this protein is upregulated in response to viral infection.
