Product Specific Information
Antibody detects endogenous levels of PKC theta only when phosphorylated at Tyr90.
Target Information
Protein Kinase C (PKC) isoforms are serine/threonine kinases involved in signal transduction pathways regulating differentiation, proliferation, gene expression, brain function, membrane transport, and cytoskeletal organization.
PKC isoforms play key roles in cell cycle transitions (G1 and G2 checkpoints), acting as positive or negative regulators depending on activation timing and isoform type.
At least 12 PKC isoforms have been identified in humans, including alpha, beta I, beta II, gamma, delta, epsilon, zeta, eta, theta, iota, lambda, and mu.
PKC beta II is expressed in cardiac muscle, intestinal epithelium, kidney, and pancreas, and is involved in cell cycle progression and cancer proliferation.
