Target Information
IL-3Ra (Interleukin-3 receptor subunit alpha) belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family and forms a heterodimer with a unique alpha chain paired with the common beta (βc or CDw131) subunit. IL-3Ra mediates Interleukin-3 signaling, with heterodimerization of IL-3Ra and IL-3Rb chains induced by Interleukin-3, necessary for receptor activation but not high-affinity binding.
IL-3Ra subunits are reported to be overexpressed in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) blasts compared with normal hematopoietic cells, making them potential targets for novel therapeutic agents.
