Target Information
MET (c-Met) is a receptor-like tyrosine kinase whose dysregulation has been linked to various human malignancies. Upon ligand activation, MET interacts with PI3-kinase subunit PIK3R1, PLCG1, SRC, GRB2, and STAT3, leading to activation of signaling cascades such as RAS-ERK, PI3K-AKT, and PLCγ-PKC.
MET is essential in embryonic development (gastrulation, muscle and neuron development, angiogenesis, kidney formation) and in adult processes like wound healing, organ regeneration, and tissue remodeling.
Aberrant MET signaling is associated with cancers including gastric, renal, and breast, making it a key target for cancer therapeutics and diagnostics.
