CD56 (NCAM, neural cell adhesion molecule)은 면역글로불린 계열의 막관통 당단백질로, 신경계 전반에 걸쳐 120–180 kDa 범위의 다양한 아이소폼으로 발현됩니다.
CD56은 T 세포와 NK 세포에서 발견되며, 세포 이동, 축삭 성장, 경로 탐색 및 시냅스 가소성에 관여합니다.
Polysialic 수정은 CD56 매개 세포 부착을 감소시키며, CD56은 laminin 및 integrin과 같은 세포외기질 성분과 상호작용을 통해 동종 및 이종 결합을 매개합니다.
CD56은 대부분의 신경외배엽 유래 세포주, 조직 및 종양(예: 망막모세포종, 수모세포종, 성상세포종, 신경모세포종)에서 발현되며, 신경내분비 종양 및 난소 과립막세포 종양의 고감도 표지자로 널리 사용됩니다.
CD56 기능 이상은 광견병 및 blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasms와 관련이 있습니다.
