  • Predicted to react with rat based on sequence homology.
  • Requires protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections using trypsin or pronase.
  • Heat-mediated antigen retrieval using a sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0) is recommended for paraffin section staining.

  • Mouse anti-human corticotrophin-releasing factor antibody, clone 5D5, recognizes human corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF), a secreted hormone regulating corticotropin release from the pituitary.

Target Information

Corticotropin Releasing Factor (CRF) is a 41-amino-acid neuropeptide belonging to a family of structurally related peptides including urocortin, sauvagine, and urotensin I.
CRF plays a critical role in regulating the pituitary-adrenal axis and in endocrine, autonomic, and behavioral responses to stress.
It is widely distributed in the brain and peripheral nervous system, with the highest levels found in the hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus.
