• RMIL310 contains 134 amino acid residues.
• Purity: >96% pure by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analysis.
• Activity: One unit of activity is <0.1 ng/mL, determined by proliferation assay of mouse IL-3-dependent FDC-P1 cells, corresponding to a specific activity of >1×10⁷ units/mg.
• Use: Interleukin-3 exerts activity in the range of 0.1–10 ng/mL for most in vitro applications.
• Reconstitution and Dilution:
  • Reconstitute in distilled water to a concentration of 100 µg/mL.
  • After reconstitution, dilute cytokine in a neutral buffer containing carrier protein such as 5–10% FBS or 1–4% high purity BSA (fatty acid free fraction V).
• Lyophilized product is stable until expiration if stored desiccated below 0°C.
• Cytokines diluted as indicated above should be divided into aliquots and stored at -70°C.
• Recombinant proteins should be stored at concentrations >500 ng/mL to reduce loss of activity.

Target Information

Interleukin 3 (IL-3), also known as Mast Cell Growth Factor (MCGF), Multi-Colony Stimulating Factor (multi-CSF), or Eosinophil-CSF (E-CSF), is produced by activated T cells, mast cells, and eosinophils.
IL-3 is a hematopoietic growth factor that stimulates colony formation of erythroid, megakaryocyte, neutrophil, eosinophil, basophil, mast cell, and monocytic lineages.
These functions are often enhanced or dependent on co-stimulation with other cytokines.

Human and mouse IL-3 share only 29% sequence identity at the amino acid level, and the bioactivity of IL-3 is highly species specific — for example, human IL-3 has no activity on mouse cells.
IL-3 is a potent growth-promoting cytokine capable of supporting proliferation of a broad range of hematopoietic cell types and is involved in cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis.
Additionally, IL-3 has been shown to possess neurotrophic activity and may be associated with neurologic disorders.
