Target Information
ITGA3 (Integrin alpha-3), also known as CD49c, VLA3, or GAPB3, is encoded by the ITGA3 gene in humans. It is an integrin alpha subunit and a member of the cell surface adhesion molecule family.
ITGA3 is located on chromosome 17q21.33 and forms the alpha3beta1 integrin duplex, which plays a role in neural migration and corticogenesis alongside the beta-1 subunit.
A functional link between DAB1 phosphorylation and ITGA3 signaling regulates the detachment of migrating neurons from radial glial fibers.
Expression of human ITGA3 increases viral infectivity in Chinese hamster ovary cells.
ITGA3 contains 13 potential N-glycosylation sites, 2 potential cleavage sites, and 7 N-terminal repeating units typical of integrins.
Recombinant ITGA3 is expressed as a 150-kDa protein, matching the native protein size in Western blot analysis.
