Target Information

ITGA3 (Integrin alpha 3), also known as CD49C, VLA3, or GAPB3, is a human protein encoded by the ITGA3 gene. It belongs to the integrin alpha subunit family, which functions as cell surface adhesion molecules.
ITGA3 is located on chromosome 17q21.33 and forms the α3β1 integrin complex with the β1 subunit, playing a critical role in neural migration and corticogenesis.
A functional link between DAB1 phosphorylation and ITGA3 signaling contributes to the detachment of migrating neurons from radial glial fibers.
Expression of human ITGA3 has been shown to increase viral infectivity in Chinese hamster ovary cells. The protein contains 13 potential N-glycosylation sites, 2 potential cleavage sites, and 7 N-terminal repeating units typical of integrins.
Recombinant ITGA3 is expressed as a 150-kDa protein, consistent with the native form observed in Western blot analysis.
