Target Information
Retinoic Acid (RA), the active metabolite of vitamin A, regulates the transition of proliferating precursor cells to postmitotic differentiated cells. The Retinoid X Receptor (RXR) family — including RXRα, RXRβ, and RXRγ — preferentially binds 9-cis-RA and controls gene transcription through heterodimer formation with other RA receptors. Retinoids have potential therapeutic roles in cervical cancer and are critical in neuronal development, synaptic plasticity, and learning and memory regulation.
