Target Information
PKM2 (Pyruvate Kinase M2) is an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion between phosphoenolpyruvate and pyruvate in the glycolytic pathway.
It interacts with thyroid hormones, mediating cellular metabolic effects, and binds to bacterial Opa protein, suggesting a role in pathogenesis.
Three alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding two distinct isoforms of PKM2 have been reported.
