Target Information
Ribosomes are organelles that catalyze protein synthesis and consist of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. These subunits are composed of 4 RNA species and approximately 80 distinct proteins. The RPS15 gene encodes a ribosomal protein component of the 40S subunit, belonging to the S19P family. It is located in the cytoplasm and has been found activated in various tumors including insulinomas, esophageal cancers, and colon cancers. Multiple processed pseudogenes and alternative splicing variants exist for this gene.
