Target Information
CREB (Cyclic AMP response element binding protein)은 43 kDa의 basic/leucine zipper 전사인자로, cyclic AMP response element (CRE)에 결합하여 다양한 세포외 신호(신경전달물질, 호르몬, 성장인자 등)에 반응해 전사를 활성화합니다.
CREB의 활성화는 serine 133의 인산화에 의존하며, p44/42 MAP kinase, p90RSK, p38 MAP kinase 및 MSK1 경로를 통해 인산화됩니다.
비인산화 상태에서도 DNA 결합은 가능하지만, 전사 활성은 인산화된 형태에서만 수행됩니다. CREB binding protein (CBP)은 CREB의 serine 133 부위에 결합하여 전사 공동활성화 역할을 합니다.
CREB는 생체 리듬 동기화, 지방세포 분화, 학습 및 기억 등 다양한 세포 과정에 관여하며, 인간에서는 염색체 2q에 위치합니다. CREB 기능 이상은 알츠하이머병, 조직구종, 연조직 흑색종 등과 관련이 있습니다.
