Product Specific Information
Antibody detects endogenous levels of MRIP only when phosphorylated at Thr542.
Target Information
MPRIP targets myosin phosphatase to the actin cytoskeleton and is required for regulation of the actin cytoskeleton by RhoA and ROCK1.
Depletion leads to increased stress fibers in smooth muscle cells through stabilization of actin fibers by phosphorylated myosin.
Overexpression of MRIP or its F-actin-binding region leads to disassembly of stress fibers in neuronal cells.
