Target Information
NRIP is a novel 860 amino acid nuclear protein consisting of seven conserved WD40 domains and one NLS motif. It binds to androgen and glucocorticoid receptors, enhancing their transcriptional activity as a nuclear receptor coactivator. NRIP plays roles in cell growth and is implicated in cervical and prostate cancers, suggesting potential therapeutic relevance. Northern blot analysis shows high expression in skeletal muscle and testis, and low expression in heart, prostate, and adrenal gland.
