Product Specific Information
The II/41 monoclonal antibody reacts with the µ heavy chain of mouse IgM and does not cross-react with IgD, IgG, or IgA. IgM is expressed intracellularly during early B cell development and on the surface of mature B cells. Fluorochrome-conjugated II/41 can be used as a detection secondary for mouse IgM.
- Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
- Applications Tested: Tested on mouse bone marrow cells at ≤1.0 µg/test (final volume 100 µL; 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Optimal titration recommended.
- Fluorochrome: Brilliant Violet™ 711 (BV711), emission at 713 nm, for use with violet (405 nm) laser.
- Buffer Recommendation: When using multiple polymer dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (SB-4401-42) or Brilliant Stain Buffer™ (00-4409-75) to reduce non-specific interactions.
- Light Sensitivity: Protect from light to prevent photo-induced oxidation.
- Fixation: Compatible with IC Fixation Buffer (00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (00-5333-54) for up to 3 days at 4°C. Not compatible with methanol-based fixation.

Target Information
Mouse IgM is an immunoglobulin produced by B cells as the first antibody during an immune response. It is a pentamer composed of five heavy and five light chains, involved in complement activation and antigen agglutination. Mouse IgM plays a key role in innate immunity and is widely used in ELISA, Western blotting, and immunohistochemistry research applications.
