Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Reacts specifically with p34 cdc2 in human tissues and cell lines. This antibody is not cross-reactive with other cyclin dependent kinases. Cross-reactivity with p34 cdc2 from other sources, especially mouse and rat, will occur. This reagent has broad interspecies reactivity.
Target Information
CDK1 (Cell Division Control protein 1) is essential for the completion of START, the controlling event in the cell cycle required to initiate mitosis. CDK1 is a catalytic subunit of the M-Phase Promoting Factor, which induces entry into mitosis and is universal among eukaryotes. Phosphorylation of Bcl-2 in G2/M phase-arrested cells following photodynamic therapy with hypericin involves a CDK1-mediated signal and delays apoptosis onset. The therapeutic potential of CDK inhibitor NU2058 in androgen-independent prostate cancer has also been demonstrated.
