Product Specific Information

This antibody detects endogenous levels of SRPK2 only when phosphorylated at Thr492.


Target Information

SRPK2, along with SRPK1, is likely the cellular protein kinase mediating HBV core protein phosphorylation during viral infection, representing an important host target for therapeutic intervention. It promotes neuronal apoptosis by up-regulating cyclin-D1 (CCND1) expression through phosphorylation of SRSF2, which suppresses p53/TP53 phosphorylation. This relieves p53/TP53’s repression of cyclin-D1 expression. SRPK2 also phosphorylates ACIN1, redistributing it from nuclear speckles to the nucleoplasm, resulting in up-regulation of cyclin A1 but not A2. It plays an essential role in spliceosomal B complex formation via phosphorylation of DDX23/PRP28 and negatively regulates HBV replication by reducing pregenomic RNA packaging efficiency without affecting viral core particle formation.
