Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of STAT2 only when phosphorylated at Thr387.
Target Information
STAT2 is a member of the STAT protein family. In response to cytokines and growth factors, STAT family members are phosphorylated by receptor-associated kinases, then form homo- or heterodimers that translocate to the nucleus, acting as transcription activators. In response to interferon (IFN), STAT2 forms a complex with STAT1 and ISGF3G (p48), functioning as a transactivator but lacking direct DNA-binding ability. It also interacts with transcription adaptor P300/CBP (EP300/CREBBP), and may play a role in blocking IFN-alpha response by adenovirus.
