Product Specific Information

This antibody detects endogenous levels of SHP2 only when phosphorylated at Tyr546, which site has historically been referenced as Tyr542.

Target Information

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family. PTPs are signaling molecules that regulate various cellular processes such as cell growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation. This PTP contains two tandem Src homology-2 domains that mediate phospho-tyrosine binding and substrate interaction. It is widely expressed and regulates multiple signaling events critical for mitogenic activation, metabolic control, transcription regulation, and cell migration. Mutations in this gene are associated with Noonan syndrome and acute myeloid leukemia.
