PA1-868 detects retinoblastoma protein (Rb)-associated protein 46 (RbAp46) from human cells.
It has been successfully used in IF, Western blot, and immunocytochemical procedures.
By Western blot, this antibody detects an approximately 46 kDa protein representing RbAp46 from HeLa cell lysate.
Immunocytochemical staining of RbAp46 in HeLa cells with PA1-868 results in nuclear staining.

The PA1-868 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues M(1)ASKEMFEDTVEE(13)C of human RbAp46.
This sequence is completely conserved between human and mouse.
The immunizing peptide (Cat. # PEP-083) is available for use in neutralization and control experiments.

Target Information

This protein is a ubiquitously expressed nuclear protein and belongs to a highly conserved subfamily of WD-repeat proteins.
It binds directly to retinoblastoma protein, which regulates cell proliferation.
It is found in several histone deacetylase complexes, including the mSin3 co-repressor complex, and in protein complexes involved in chromatin assembly.
This protein can interact with the BRCA1 tumor-suppressor gene and may play a role in the regulation of cell proliferation and differentiation.
