Product Specific Information

In Western blot, this antibody detects a band at approximately 49 kDa in human uterus tissue lysate.
Rabbit anti-TIM-1 antibody detects T cell immunoglobulin mucin-1 (TIM-1), first identified as the receptor used by hepatitis A virus for entry. It is also known as the hepatitis A virus cellular receptor (HAVCR). TIM-1 also acts as a receptor for other viruses, including Dengue, Ebola, and Marburg.

Target Information

CD365, also known as T-cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain 1 (TIM-1), is a type I surface glycoprotein composed of an extracellular N-terminal immunoglobulin V-like domain, a mucin domain, and a short cytoplasmic tail.
The endogenous ligand for CD365 is TIM-4. CD365 functions as a cellular receptor or co-receptor for multiple viruses such as hepatitis A and C viruses, Ebola, Marburg, Dengue, Zika, West Nile, and Japanese encephalitis viruses. Viral binding occurs via phosphatidylserine exposed on viral envelopes.
Polymorphisms in the human CD365 gene (HAVCR1) are associated with susceptibility and disease severity. CD365 also plays a role in T cell co-stimulation and is primarily expressed in epithelial cells, including A549, 769-P, and Caco-2 cell lines. A soluble form of CD365 can be generated by metalloproteinase-mediated cleavage.
