Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts with the deglycosylated form of the antigen, which shows a molecular weight reduction of approximately 15 kDa after treatment with endoglycosidase F.
Target Information
CD53 is a tetraspanin family transmembrane glycoprotein expressed in the lymphoid-myeloid lineage. It forms complexes with other leukocyte surface proteins such as CD2, CD19, CD21, MHC II, VLA-4, and tetraspanins CD37, CD81, and CD82, modulating various signaling processes. CD53 contributes to tumor cell radioresistance and exhibits anti-apoptotic effects upon activation. In the thymus, CD53 is upregulated during T cell positive selection and is strongly expressed in macrophages exposed to bacterial lipopolysaccharide, while neutrophil stimulation leads to downregulation of CD53 expression.
