Product Specific Information
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and expressed in these systems. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.
Advantages include:
- Better specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulations
- Broader immunoreactivity due to the larger rabbit immune repertoire
Target Information
Fatty acid binding proteins (FABPs) are small (approximately 13–14 kDa) intracellular proteins with a high degree of tissue specificity. They bind long-chain fatty acids and play a key role in intracellular fatty acid utilization. There are at least six distinct FABP types, each showing a specific tissue expression pattern.
FABP leaks rapidly from chemically damaged or dying cells, leading to elevated serum levels. Liver FABP is a sensitive marker for hepatocellular damage both in vitro and in vivo. Histologically, damaged tissues show reduced FABP presence, aiding in identification. Liver FABP is also useful for detecting rapid hepatocyte lysis in toxicology assays and monitoring liver damage during or after transplantation.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
