Target Information
SPACA3 (Sperm Acrosome Associated 3), also known as sperm lysozyme-like protein 1 (LYZL3), is a 215 amino acid protein involved in sperm–egg plasma membrane adhesion and fusion during fertilization. It is expressed in testis, placenta, and epididymis and identified as a cancer/testis antigen capable of eliciting B-cell immune responses in cancer patients. SPACA3 isoform 1 is a membrane-bound acrosomal protein, while isoform 2 is secreted. The processed form lacks detectable bacteriolytic activity in vitro.
