Product Specific Information

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and expressed, followed by screening for optimal clones. These antibodies offer improved specificity and sensitivity, consistent performance across lots, animal origin-free formulations, and broader target recognition due to the extensive rabbit immune repertoire.

Target Information

Alpha actinins are part of the spectrin gene superfamily, a diverse group of cytoskeletal proteins including spectrins and dystrophins. They are actin-binding proteins with multiple roles in different cell types. In nonmuscle cells, alpha actinin is found along microfilament bundles and adherens junctions, linking actin to the membrane. In muscle cells, isoforms localize to the Z-disc, anchoring myofibrillar actin filaments. The nonmuscle isoform encoded by this gene is concentrated in the cytoplasm and may play a role in metastatic processes. Mutations are linked to focal and segmental glomerulosclerosis.
