Target Information
CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising about 10% of lymphocyte surface proteins. It is absent in non-hematopoietic cell lines and tissues.
CD45 glycoprotein plays a crucial role in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling, regulating Src-family kinases and cytokine receptor signaling.
CD45 isoforms arise from alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic domains.
CD45RA is one isoform with restricted expression among lymphoid subtypes.
CD45 regulates T- and B-cell receptor signaling, suppresses JAK kinases, and modulates integrin-mediated pathways, apoptosis, and immune functions.
