Target Information
CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising about 10% of all surface proteins in lymphocytes. It is absent in non-hematopoietic tissues.
CD45 glycoprotein plays a crucial role in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling, regulating Src-family kinases. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic domains.
CD45 is essential for T- and B-cell receptor signaling and modulates JAK kinase activity in cytokine receptor signaling. It also regulates cell survival, integrin-mediated signaling, and apoptosis-related processes.
