Reactivity with other Integrin alpha 7 isoforms was not tested.
In direct ELISAs, no cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse Integrin alpha 2, alpha 3, alpha 4, alpha 5, alpha 9, alpha E, alpha X, recombinant human Integrin alpha L, or alpha 11 is observed.
Target Information
Integrin alpha-7 is a protein encoded by the ITGA7 gene (chromosome 12q13.2).
It belongs to the integrin alpha chain family, which forms heterodimeric complexes with beta chains.
Integrins mediate cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, influencing cell migration, morphology, differentiation, and metastasis.
Integrin alpha-7 functions as a receptor for laminin-1, primarily expressed in skeletal and cardiac muscles, and plays roles in myogenesis.
Mutations in this gene are associated with congenital myopathy.
