MA1-43003 was derived from the 120kD activation peptide of human factor V.
Target Information
Coagulation factor V (Proaccelerin) is an essential component of the blood coagulation cascade.
It circulates in plasma and becomes active after thrombin cleaves the activation peptide, producing a heavy and light chain held together by calcium ions.
Active factor V acts as a cofactor with activated factor X to convert prothrombin to thrombin.
Defects in the Factor V gene may lead to Factor V deficiency, thrombophilia due to activated protein C resistance, Budd-Chiari syndrome, ischemic stroke, and recurrent pregnancy loss.
