MA1-43004 detects the human factor Va light chain (fragment E, 74000) and does not react with intact Factor V.
It has been successfully used in RIA and Western blot applications.

Target Information
Coagulation factor V (Proaccelerin) is an essential component of the blood coagulation cascade. It circulates in plasma and becomes activated through thrombin-mediated peptide release during coagulation, generating heavy and light chains held together by calcium ions.
Active factor V acts as a cofactor with activated factor X to convert prothrombin to thrombin.
Defects in the Factor V gene are associated with conditions such as Factor V deficiency, thrombophilia due to activated protein C resistance, Budd-Chiari syndrome, ischemic stroke, and recurrent pregnancy loss.
