Product Specific Information
This antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
SFPQ (also known as PSF) encodes a nuclear factor involved in splicing and gene expression regulation. It likely forms a heteromer with NONO and participates in DNA pairing and repair processes. Recent studies have identified SFPQ as a downstream target of tau, showing nuclear depletion and cytoplasmic accumulation in neurons and astrocytes of Alzheimer’s disease brains. Reduced SFPQ levels may correlate with tau pathology, suggesting a role in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease. SFPQ protein may appear as 47 kDa, 52 kDa, or 100 kDa molecules in various cell types.
