Product Specific Information
- For immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
ATG5 (Autophagy Related 5) is a key component of the autophagy pathway and plays important roles in apoptosis and other cellular processes such as mitochondrial quality control, immune regulation, lymphocyte development, and antigen presentation. Following conjugation to ATG12, the ATG5–ATG12 complex participates in autophagosome formation and autophagic cell death. It also interacts with proteins involved in innate immunity, modulating type I interferon production and viral replication. Dysregulation of ATG5 is associated with diseases such as spinocerebellar ataxia.
