Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.

ATG5 (Autophagy Related 5)는 자가포식(autophagy)에 필수적인 단백질로, 세포사멸(apoptosis) 과정에도 관여합니다.
ATG5는 산화 손상 후 미토콘드리아 품질 관리, 항바이러스 면역 반응의 음성 조절, 림프구 발달 및 증식, MHC II 항원 제시, 지방세포 분화 등 다양한 세포 기능에 관련됩니다.
ATG12와의 결합 후 자가포식소체 형성에 참여하며, FADD 단백질과 상호작용하여 autophagic cell death를 유도합니다.
또한 RIG-I 및 VISA(IPS-1) 단백질과 결합하여 type I interferon 생성을 억제하고 바이러스 복제를 허용합니다.
ATG5 이상은 spinocerebellar ataxia와 같은 질환과 연관되어 있습니다.
