Product Specific Information
The II/41 monoclonal antibody reacts with the μ heavy chain of mouse IgM and does not cross-react with other mouse immunoglobulin classes (IgD, IgG, IgA). IgM is expressed intracellularly during early B lymphopoiesis and on the surface of mature B cells. Fluorochrome-conjugated II/41 can be used as a detection secondary antibody for mouse IgM.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and immunocytochemistry.
Applications Tested: Tested in flow cytometric analysis of mouse spleen cells, effective at ≤0.25 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Optimal titration recommended.

Mouse IgM is the first antibody produced during an immune response, composed of five heavy and five light chains. It plays a key role in complement activation and antigen agglutination, contributing to innate immune defense. Widely used in ELISA, Western blotting, and immunohistochemistry for research and diagnostics.
