Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody SolA15 recognizes mouse and rat Ki-67, a 300 kDa nuclear protein expressed during all active phases of the cell cycle (G1, S, G2, and mitosis) but absent in resting cells (G0). Ki-67 redistributes from the nucleus to chromosomes during mitosis and serves as a marker for cellular proliferation. The Ki-67 labeling index is used to predict outcomes in certain cancers. Ki-67 interacts with chromobox protein homolog 3 (CBX3).

The SolA15 antibody also recognizes human, non-human primate, and canine Ki-67.

Target Information

Ki-67 is a nuclear protein expressed during late G1, S, G2, and M phases of the cell cycle. It associates with euchromatin and heterochromatin through its FHA domain and shows cell cycle–dependent localization: perinucleolar at G1, nuclear matrix at G2, and chromosomal during M phase. Ki-67 is widely used as a proliferation marker since it is absent in G0 cells. It is useful in determining the growth fraction of neoplasms and correlates with tumor grade and prognosis. Ki-67 is also used as a neuronal marker of cell proliferation.
