TGF beta-1 (TGFB1, Transforming Growth Factor Beta 1)은 transforming growth factor beta 사이토카인 슈퍼패밀리에 속하는 폴리펩타이드로, 대부분의 조직에 존재합니다.
TGF-β는 세포외기질(extracellular matrix)에 잠재형 복합체(latent complex)로 저장되며, 활성화는 aV integrin이 프로도메인의 RGD 서열에 결합하여 이루어집니다.
활성형 TGF beta-1은 세포 증식, 분화, 접착, 이동 등을 조절하며, 다양한 성장 인자들의 발현을 양·음성으로 조절합니다.
유전자 변이는 Camurati-Engelmann disease 및 cystic fibrosis와 관련이 있습니다.
