Target Information

Acts as an actin nucleation factor, remaining associated with the slow-growing pointed end of new filaments. Involved in intracellular vesicle transport along actin fibers, linking actin cytoskeleton dynamics and intracellular transport.
Required for asymmetric spindle positioning and cell division during meiosis, as well as for cleavage furrow formation and polar body extrusion in female germ cells.
Also functions in the nucleus with SPIRE1 and SPIRE2 to promote assembly of nuclear actin filaments in response to DNA damage, facilitating chromatin movement and repair factor localization.
