Target Information
DR5 (Apo2, TRAIL-R2, TRICK2, KILLER) is a death domain-containing receptor for TRAIL, mediating TRAIL-induced apoptosis. It belongs to the TNF-receptor superfamily and transduces apoptotic signals via TNFSF10/TRAIL/APO-2L. FADD adaptor protein is required for DR5-mediated apoptosis.
DR5 overexpression induces apoptosis and activates NF-κB. It is expressed in various cell types, particularly lymphocytes and spleen.
Diseases associated with DR5 dysfunction include squamous cell carcinoma and diffuse infiltrative lymphocytosis syndrome.
