Target Information
TRAIL (also known as Apo-2L) is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) ligand family that rapidly induces apoptosis in various transformed cell lines.
TRAIL-R4, a fourth member of the TRAIL receptor family, activates NF-kappaB similar to TRAIL-R1 and TRAIL-R2 but does not induce apoptosis.
This receptor is widely expressed in tissues, and the human TRAIL-R4 gene is mapped to chromosome 8p22–21, clustered with three other TRAIL receptors.
