Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
GAD-65 and GAD-67 are members of the group II decarboxylase family that catalyze the conversion of L-glutamic acid to GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid).
- GAD-65: Localized to synaptic vesicle membranes, activated during increased neurotransmission demand.
- GAD-67: Distributed throughout the cell, responsible for basal GABA synthesis.
Loss of GAD-65 impairs GABA neurotransmission, while loss of GAD-67 is lethal.
Two isoforms exist for GAD-67 due to alternative splicing: the predominant GAD-67 and the minor GAD-25.
