Product Specific Information
The UCHL1 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD45RO, a 180 kDa isoform of CD45.
CD45RO is expressed by most thymocytes, activated memory T cells, granulocytes, and monocytes. CD22 is a ligand for CD45RO, and expression of CD45RO and CD45RA is commonly used to distinguish subsets of peripheral T cells.

- Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometry using normal human peripheral blood cells
- Recommended Usage: 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test)

Target Information
CD45RO (UCHL1, ubiquitin carboxyl terminal esterase L1) is the shortest isoform of the receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase CD45 glycoprotein.
CD45 plays a crucial role in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling, regulating Src-family kinases and promoting cell survival via integrin-mediated signal transduction. It is also involved in DNA fragmentation during apoptosis.
CD45 isoforms share transmembrane and cytoplasmic domains but differ in extracellular regions, influencing their membrane localization and expression depending on cell type and physiological state.
CD45RO is expressed on macrophages, CD8⁺ T cells, activated T cells, and myeloma cells.
