Product Specific Information
The A20 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse CD45 molecule, the leukocyte common antigen (LCA) in CD45.1-expressing mouse strains such as SJL/J, DA, STS/A, and RIII. CD45.1 is expressed by all leukocytes in these strains.

Target Information
CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising ~10% of surface proteins in lymphocytes. It regulates Src-family kinases, essential for lymphocyte development and antigen signaling. CD45 isoforms vary by extracellular domain due to alternative splicing and differ in membrane localization and expression depending on cell type and physiological state. CD45 also promotes cell survival via integrin-mediated signaling and participates in DNA fragmentation during apoptosis. CD45RA is an isoform with restricted expression among lymphoid subtypes.
