The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen, and the purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).

Target Information

TSEN2 constitutes one of the two catalytic subunits of the tRNA-splicing endonuclease complex, which is responsible for identifying and cleaving splice sites in pre-tRNA. It cleaves pre-tRNA at the 5′ and 3′ splice sites to release the intron, generating two tRNA half-molecules with 2′,3′-cyclic phosphate and 5′-OH termini. Although there are no conserved sequences at the splice sites, the intron is invariably located at the same site, maintaining a constant distance from structural features of the tRNA. Isoform 1 likely carries the active site for 5′-splice site cleavage. The complex also participates in mRNA processing through association with pre-mRNA 3′-end processing factors, linking tRNA splicing and mRNA 3′-end formation. Isoform 2 processes an unknown RNA substrate and cannot properly cleave pre-tRNAs, though it retains endonucleolytic activity.
