Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts with the ~55 kDa acetylated form of alpha-tubulin. It shows reactivity with human, mouse, and rat, confirmed in NIH3T3 and HeLa cells.
Target Information
Alpha Tubulin is a component of the alpha-beta tubulin heterodimer, the fundamental unit of microtubules. These filaments are essential for cellular structure, intracellular transport, and mitosis. Microtubules are present in nearly all eukaryotic cells and are composed of highly conserved alpha and beta tubulin subunits. The alpha-tubulin gene shares high similarity with the mouse and rat Tuba1 gene, with expression predominantly in morphologically differentiated neuronal cells.
