Target Information
P-cadherin (Cadherin-3)은 Type 1 cadherin 단백질로, cadherin 초패밀리에 속합니다. Type 1 cadherin은 5개의 세포외 cadherin 반복 도메인과 p120-catenin 및 β-catenin에 결합하는 세포내 도메인을 가진 단일 통과형 막단백질입니다.
Cadherin은 칼슘 의존적 세포 간 부착 당단백질로, 발달, 상처 치유, 세포 신호전달, 성장, 분화 등 다양한 생물학적 과정에 관여합니다.
P-cadherin은 인간 태아 조직 및 성체의 표피 기저층, 유방, 전립선, 난소, 자궁경부, 모낭, 각막 내피 등에서 발현됩니다. 또한 배아줄기세포 및 정상 유방과 모낭의 줄기세포에서도 발현이 보고되었습니다.
P-cadherin의 과발현은 유방, 전립선, 난소, 대장, 위암 등에서 불량한 예후와 관련이 있습니다.
CDH3 유전자의 돌연변이는 선천성 저모증과 소아황반이영양증과 연관되어 있습니다.
