Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This affinity-purified antibody is directed against rabbit MAPKAP Kinase 2 and is useful in determining its presence in various assays. This polyclonal anti-MAPKAP Kinase 2 antibody recognizes native and over-expressed protein found in various tissues and extracts. The sequence is conserved 100% in human, mouse, rabbit, rat, hamster, chicken, Xenopus, and zebrafish. Cross-reactivity with MAPKAP Kinase 2 from other sources has not been tested.

Target Information

MAPKAPK2 mediates p38 and ERK signaling in vivo and is involved in many cellular processes, including stress and inflammatory responses, nuclear export, gene expression regulation, and cell proliferation. It encodes a member of the Ser/Thr protein kinase family and is regulated through direct phosphorylation by p38 MAP kinase. In conjunction with p38 MAP kinase, MAPKAPK2 participates in stress and inflammatory responses, nuclear export, gene expression regulation, and cell proliferation. Heat shock protein HSP27 has been identified as one of its substrates in vivo. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for MAPKAPK2.
