This affinity purified antibody is directed against the phosphorylated form of human CHK2 at the pT68 residue. It specifically reacts with phosphorylated CHK2 and shows minimal reactivity with the non-phosphorylated form. No cross-reactivity with CHK2 phosphorylated at other sites.
BLAST analysis suggests reactivity with human and chimpanzee CHK2 (100% homology). Possible cross-reactivity with mouse and rat CHK2 (90% homology). Cross-reactivity with other species has not been determined.

Target Information

CHEK2 (CHK2) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in the DNA damage checkpoint pathway. Mutations in CHK2 are linked to various cancers. CHK2 phosphorylates tumor suppressor proteins including BRCA1, aiding in survival after DNA damage.
Mutations in CHK2 are associated with Li-Fraumeni syndrome and may predispose to sarcomas, breast cancer, and brain tumors.
