Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Target Information
KappaB ras-1 (kappa-B-ras-1) and kappaB-ras-2 are small proteins similar to Ras-like small GTPases that associate with Ikappa-B, an inhibitor of the transcription factor NF-kappa-B. Ikappa-B exists in two homologous forms, Ikappa-B-alpha and Ikappa-B-beta. Ikappa-B-beta contains a unique 47-amino acid region within its ankyrin domain. While inactive Ikappa-B-alpha–NF-kappa-B complexes can shuttle in and out of the nucleus, Ikappa-B-beta–NF-kappa-B complexes are retained exclusively in the cytoplasm. KappaB-ras proteins preferentially bind to the Ikappa-B-beta form through this unique insert within the ankyrin region, modulating its cellular location and regulating its degradation rate.
